Documents required for opening a Salary Account:


The following documents are needed:

  • Two Passport size photographs.
  • Certificate / letter of identity / address isssued by the employer.
  • In addition to the certificate / letter issued by the employer, at least one of the officially valid documents as provided in the Prevention of Money Laundering Rules (viz. passport, driving license, Pan card, Voter's identity card, etc)
  • KYC purposes for opening bank accounts of salaried employees.
  • Joints Accounts ....For joint accounts the above documents are required for both, the applicant as well as the joint applicants.

How to change SBI Saving Account to Salary Account? 


1. Write an application to change your account type to respective salary account with proof of your job.

2. This process holds true if you are working at Central Government or State Government or PSU.

3. The request for conversion of normal saving Bank account to salary account cannot be submitted by you directly to the branch.

4. Submit it through your DDO.
